Urges Tomorrow’s Policy Makers to Push for Constant Progress toward “Transformational Change”

CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 11, 2008) – Maryland Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown today delivered the opening keynote to the Black Policy Conference hosted by the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  Brown’s speech, titled “Making a Difference: Incremental Progress toward Transformational Change,” discussed the disparate nature of many issues facing Americans, notably health care, connecting people and communities to opportunities, and education.

The theme of this year’s conference is “How ‘Making a Difference’ Works: Approaches to Real Solutions.” During the weekend-long conference, attendees will be able to participate in a wide array of policy discussions and roundtables featuring many prominent African American policy makers.

Brown received both his undergraduate degree and law degree from Harvard University. Earl Adams, Brown’s Deputy Chief of Staff and a graduate of the Kennedy School of Government, introduced Lt. Governor Brown.
