Governor Upholds Stricter Penalties for Drug Dealers;
Opposes Bill to Allow Resale of Police Handguns to Manufacturers
ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 16, 2007) - Today, Governor Martin O’Malley vetoed two bills passed this year by the Maryland General Assembly.
Governor O’Malley decided to veto on policy grounds House Bill 992 - Criminal Procedure-Drug Related Offenses-Parole Eligibility for Second Offenders.
Governor O’Malley also chose to veto on policy grounds Senate Bill 497- Disposal of Handguns Owned by a Law Enforcement Agency.
